Everything we have, everything we are, everything we do is a Gift from God.
Every heart beat, every breath, every meal, every relationship, every day we wake up and show up for life, is a Gift from God.
We are given these Gifts to use InJoy and also instructed to act as wise and faithful stewards of them. We are in a partnership with God. God is our silent partner and benefactor. As with any Gift, it is our calling to master money, be the masters of money, rather than the reverse. The first step in this partnership journey is to acknowledge that it is God from Whom all good things flow, including our income. How do we do that? By tithing.
Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops;
then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.
Tithing is a form of gratitude, worship, and acknowledgement that it is God from Whom our blessings spring forth. It is faith in action. It is humility and obedience to the Loving Living Word. It is trusting in God’s provision. It is a major step in becoming masters at managing and directing the inflow of income in our lives. It is an invitation and guarantee for God’s further future blessings and oversight of our lives. By obeying the Living Loving Word, we align ourselves strongly into a close alliance with God and God’s safety mantel and mantle.
“Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house. Test Me in this,” says the LORD of Hosts. “See if I will not open the floodgates of heaven and pour out for you blessing without measure. I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of your land, and the vine in your field will not fail to produce fruit,” says the LORD of Hosts. Malachi 3:10-11
When we tithe, we show our love for God, gratitude for all our Gifts, trust in future provisions, and practice wise stewardship of our finances, time, and talents. It invokes and activates a Divine ‘insurance policy’.
Lastly, we owe it to God. By not tithing, we rob or steal from God. Alienating ourselves from God, or alienating God from us, is far from wise.
“Will man/a mere mortal rob God? Yet you are robbing me. But you say, “How have we robbed you?” In your tithes and contributions/offerings. You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing me, the whole nation of you.” Malachi 3:8-9
You can TRUST God. God is trustworthy and True to His Living Loving Word. Pray and discern how and where God wants you sharing your/God’s time, talents, gifts, and income. God will open doors, paths, meetings, ideas, and opportunities to you mysteriously that you did not know were there, nor that you could have ever created or manifested on your own, or of your own volition.
May the favor of the Lord our God be ours.
Prosper the work of our hands! Prosper the work of our hands!
